dotteler of the week
IT veteran François Amigorena is no stranger to technology, having worked in the business for twenty-six years. With experience in companies such as IBM, Société Générale and now as CEO of IS Decisions (http://isdecisions.tel/), a software company specializing in security and change management solutions, he has a renewed excitement for technology and new sense of adventure with the innovative and simple .tel. He is the founder of TourPointTel, the French-speaking .tel community website.
“I have been working in the IT business for the past 26 years. After graduating a French Business School, I joined IBM as a Sales Rep in 1983, then became Business Development Manager for a subsidiary of Société Générale (one of the largest French Bank) specializing in large computer systems leasing. I then became an entrepreneur in the late 80s. I am now President and CEO of IS Decisions, a Security Software Vendor.”
“I discovered .tel reading an article on the Web in February 2009 and I immediately became enthusiastic about the brilliantly simple and innovative concept, and decided that I had to be part of this new adventure.”
“I have a very optimistic vision for .tel. We’re still in the very early days of .tel and a lot of evangelization has to be performed to create global awareness. It will take some time. I am sure we will see great innovative products and services based on .tel in the months and the years to come.”
“But it is an incredibly efficient “creativity booster”! Creating a .tel site is extremely quick and easy and does not require any development skills, a webmaster or a host provider. So .tel is the shortest direct path from an idea to its online implementation; from your brain to the Internet, with no intermediaries!”
| “I created ToutPointTel (www.ToutPointTel.fr), the French-speaking .tel community website, to gather the French-speaking .tel Community, providing .tel enthusiasts as well as the average user with information, tools and resources to make their .tel experience richer and boost exchange and collaboration.” | ![]() |

“I also have created DotTelFinder (www.DotTelFinder.com), a .tel-only search engine, and still have a bunch of other projects about .tel. I have also developed two French-language non-profit .tel sites: http://GrippePorcine.tel and http://Sages-Femmes.tel. GrippePorcine.tel is an “info and alerts hub” about swine flu and Sages-Femmes.tel is an informative site about International Midwives’ Day. Both sites generated a very positive feedback, and people are especially satisfied for being able to access .tel sites from their mobile device. |
“.tel brings simplicity and mobility to the Internet and everybody is going to benefit from it. Using a .tel, small businesses and those that are self-employed can have a cost-effective presence on the Internet, individuals can easily share their contact information with friends and relatives, large corporations can build comprehensive internal directories, developers and software vendors can create plug-ins, add-ons and applications… .tel is the new e-frontier!”
