Being on the move all the time means that current and retired Olympians are never in the same spot for long. Here are just some of the stars from the United States that are using .tel to keep in touch with friends, family and fans.

amandabeard.tel – Model and Olympic Gold medal winning swimmer Amanda Beard is also a photographer, sports presenter and spokeswoman for several animal rights groups. Beard made her first Olympic appearance at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games at the age of 14 and since then has captured a total of seven medals at four Olympic Games. Amanda says: “I always like to stay in touch and be accessible to my family and friends. Being on the road and splitting time between two homes, I need to be able to easily change my contact info and .tel makes it easy for me to point people in the right direction.” |
| cobijones.tel – Cobi Jones is a Southern California sports legend, scoring the first goal for the LA Galaxy and keeping the title of the longest standing member of the MLS dynasty as a 12-year player for the club and now in his second season as assistant coach. A two-time MLS Cup winner (2002 and 2005), Jones also was a permanent fixture with the US Men’s National Soccer Team from 1992-2004, playing in three consecutive World Cups (1994, 1998, 2002) and representing the US at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Jones then went on to play overseas in both Europe and South America, spending time with Coventry City of the English Premier League and Brazilian side Vasco de Gama before heading to MLS. Jones, considered to be one of the best soccer players the US has ever produced, works closely with youth soccer organizations around the US as an ambassador to HOLA, Cal South (inducted in the Cal South Hall of Fame in 2009), AYSO, US Soccer Foundation and AmericaSCORES. | |

allisonbaver.tel – Two-time Olympian Allison Baver is an American short track speed skater. She is currently training hard in Colorado Springs, CO to achieve her goal of winning four gold medals at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in 2010. Allison says: “I always like to be accessible to my family, friends, and people who like to come and watch me compete. I also need to be able to easily change my contact info whenever I find a new social networking site, or want to link to a new event .Tel makes it easy for me to point people in the right direction – to my official site, to my Facebook page, or any other communication channel. | summersanders.tel – Summer Sanders is a retired Olympic gold medalist in swimming, sports broadcaster and also appeared in Jerry Maguire (1996). At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, she won gold medals in the 200-meter butterfly and in the 400-meter medley relay. She also won a silver medal in the 200-meter individual medley and a bronze medal in the 400-meter individual medley. She also co-hosted Skating With Celebrities on the Fox television network in 2006.
